Secondary Bursary Scheme

What is it?
The Secondary Bursary Scheme provides financial assistance to low income families for education expenses of students in years 7-10 in public and non-government schools. The scheme also covers the Canberra Institute of Technology or approved home schooling where students are of the age that would be enrolled in years 7-10.
Who is eligible?
Custodial parents or guardians who are financially responsible for the student and who can prove low income status through a Healthcare Card or a means tested Centrelink concession card. Students must be listed on the card.
All students must be enrolled or eligible to be enrolled in an ACT School and all participants must be ACT residents.
How do I apply?
Application forms are available at the Education and Training Directorates website, from high schools and Centrelink offices.
