What is it?
The Interstate Patient Travel Assistance Scheme (IPTAS) provides assistance to permanent residents of the ACT towards travel and accommodation expenses incurred when referred interstate for medical treatment not available in the ACT.
Who is eligible?
A referral, which remains valid for 12 months, is required from a treating medical practitioner.
ACT residents are eligible for assistance towards travel and accommodation costs incurred irrespective of whether they hold a concession card.
How do I apply?
A claim form is available online at the Health Directorates website or by contacting the administrator on the details below.
Both the referring doctor and specialist (interstate doctor) are required to complete part of the claim form.
