What is it?
CHC is the largest not-for-profit Community Housing Provider in the ACT. We provide affordable homes, principally for rent, to individuals and families. We offer properties to eligible tenants at 74.9% of current market rent.
CHC strive to provide safe and secure homes in strong communities in various locations across Canberra, and are continuously growing our rental portfolio through our own property developments and by managing third-party owned properties.
Who is eligible?
CHCs eligibility criteria is structured to provide housing opportunities for those on low to moderate income. To be eligible to be considered for a CHC rental property, you must:
- not exceed the current tenant eligibility criteria
- not own or part-own a property
- live in Canberra, and have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
In addition to the above base criteria, CHC use a housing allocation matrix to ascertain the suitability of applicants for each property. It is important to note that eligibility is not the only measure used for assessment and meeting eligibility criteria does not guarantee that a housing offer will be made. More information on eligibility can be found on the CHC website.
How do I apply?
If you meet the criteria above, you are eligible to register your interest with CHC. By submitting a registration of interest, you will be notified of current and future vacancies with CHC.
